Three simple questions to transform your year
I hope this email finds you well! This week most of us return to work and our usual routines, and before we know it, we could be going round and round on our hamster wheels without really thinking about the direction in which we really want to go.
So, let’s take a second to think about the year ahead.
Here’s a quick yet powerful 5-10 min exercise to try out. Let’s think about our lives in three main areas: Work, Health, Relationships:
On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being totally dissatisfied and 10 being very satisfied), where are you at RIGHT NOW in each of these areas?
Now, fast forward to January 2026, and look at each area again. Ask yourself what you would like to be celebrating in each of the three main areas, that you have made progress on during the course of 2025.
Tip: Write it as if it has already happened.
For instance, in health, you could write something along the lines of:
It is the 06th January 2026, and I am celebrating that I successfully completed the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April 2025, and maintained an exercise routine of working out 3 times per week for at least 30 minutes. This means that my health is better than ever. I have lots of energy, I feel strong and my mental health is fantastic as a result of consistently exercising 3 times per week. I’ve also reached and maintained my target weight of 75kgs.
3. Take time to really visualise what you would like your Work, Health and Relationships to look like 1 year from now.
With this information, you can start to clearly identify the daily/consistent actions that you need to put in place in order to be able to accomplish your main goal for each area.
If you can give yourself the gift of doing this exercise for 10 minutes today, it may well massively shape how your entire year pans out. So, grab a pen and piece of paper and give it a go right now!
