You're doing the work...where are the clients?

Hope your week is off to a great start.

Back in 2018, when I was building my tech start-up, I thought: if I just create a great product, people will come.

So I did. I paid for professional branding, got an app developed, launched a custom website, and created a beautiful, compelling product.

I also shared my journey on social media, posting consistently, thinking that would automatically turn followers into loyal clients.

And… crickets. Nothing.

People engaged, told me they loved what I shared—but no one was actually signing up. I felt frustrated and stuck.

Fast forward to this morning, where I led our weekly Business Power Hour with the Canary Wharf Female Entrepreneurs Network. The same frustration came up for many of the women in the room:

'I’m showing up, but I’m not getting clients.'

So we broke it down.

To consistently attract clients, you need three things:

1️⃣ Visibility – People need to know you exist. That means creating content, networking, and putting your work in front of the right people.

2️⃣ Trust – People need to believe you can help them. This comes from sharing real stories, insights, and results—not just generic advice.

3️⃣ Offer – People need to know how to work with you. This sounds obvious, but so many brilliant Solopreneurs never actually invite people to take the next step.

When I asked the room which of these felt hardest, visibility came out on top—closely followed by offer.

So we took it deeper. I coached three volunteers on their biggest challenges, and here’s what came up:

💡 Confidence in offering something that stands out – Worrying about competition instead of focusing on what makes you different.

💡 Too many offers, too much confusion – If people don’t instantly understand what you do, they won’t buy.

💡 Trying to serve everyone instead of one clear audience – Simplifying your message makes it easier for the right people to say yes.

Own your value – If a client chooses you over someone else, it means they see you as the best fit. That’s a win.

Visibility isn’t just about showing up—it’s about showing up with clarity. You want your ideal client to instantly think: This person gets me, and they can help me!

During our session, each person identified one action they could take this week to strengthen their weakest area.
